How do I book your services for my wedding?
- Step 1—Inquiry
- Contact me directly with the date, time, and location of your wedding to determine my availability. If I am available, I will hold your date for a maximum of one week or until I have received a contract and a deposit. If I am not available, I can offer contact information for other qualified harpists in the area who may be able to serve you.
- Step 2—Contract and Deposit
- Download a copy of my performance contract and complete it in an editing program or in a paper form. Return it to me via email or standard mail with a $50 non-refundable deposit. Your typed name will be honored as your signature. Once these are received, you will receive email confirmation that your services have been reserved.
- Step 3—Music Selection
- Complete a repertoire request form and return it via email or standard mail. Samples of common selections are available online. You may select all of your music selections, request music of a specific genre/style/tradition, or you may request that I choose music for you. Your form must be received through email or standard mail no later than two weeks prior to your ceremony.
What are your fees?
The cost of any particular engagement depends on a number of variables which are unique to each event, including travel and parking expenses, rehearsal time, and the number and variety of musical selections. Please contact Erin directly to discuss your particular needs.
How are you paid?
A non-refundable $50 deposit must be received with contracts. The remainder of the total fee must be received immediately after the completion of the performance.
When do additional transportation rates apply?
Transportation charges apply to events requiring travel of a one-way distance greater than 10 miles from Evanston, IL or Iowa City, IA according to online map interfaces. Please contact Erin to determine the charges that may apply to your event.
What is included in your basic ceremony?
The base ceremony includes up to 30 minutes of prelude music, all music during the ceremony (processionals, unity candle, solo, recessionals, etc.), and up to 15 minutes of postlude music.
Do I need a rehearsal with music?
The wedding rehearsal is generally not necessary for most weddings, and is not included in the basic ceremony fee. I am a very experienced harpist and allow plenty of time to on the day of the ceremony to speak with any members of the wedding party or the presiding officiator about any details. However, to reserve my services for your rehearsal, please contact her with the date and time to determine her availability.
Music selections
All selections listed on this website and on repertoire form are guaranteed for your wedding. While they are sorted into prelude and processional/recessional, pieces may be used for any purpose in the ceremony. Specific requests for solo pieces as well for accompanying other soloists are welcome, but must be approved by me. A free demo CD containing the excerpts available online is available by request.
When will you arrive on the day of the wedding?
I generally arrive between 30 minutes and one hour prior to the time I begin playing. I require a minimum of 15 minutes of set-up time.
What are your requirements if the wedding is outside?
If the location of the performance is outdoors, a solid, dry surface must be provided to perform on and in the event of rain, mist, hail, snow, etc., I will not play unless in a covered and sheltered area.
